A story that I wrote for this painting :

The deer, once the center of attention, stood frozen in the forest’s hush. His antlers, once proud and adorned with glittering accolades, now felt heavy with the weight of his own expectation. He was a creature of the spotlight, feeding on the adoration of the crowd. But in his pursuit of applause, he’d lost sight of what truly mattered.

The bird, with feathers as bright as her spirit, had been his constant companion. She’d cheered him on, lifted him up, and loved him without condition. But he’d taken her for granted, too caught up in his own performance.

Now, she was gone. The bird had flown, leaving behind only the faintest whisper of her presence. The deer felt the ache of her absence, the silence deafening. He realized too late that he’d been chasing the wrong crowd, that the only voice that truly mattered was the one he’d let slip away.

As he stood there, the forest grew darker, shadows creeping in. The deer sensed the hunters closing in, their presence a grim reminder that his time was running out. He’d been hunted before, but never like this. This time, it was personal.

The deer’s breath caught as he gazed up at the sky, searching for a glimpse of the bird. But she was gone, and he was left to face the darkness alone. The applause had stopped, and all that remained was the echo of his own emptiness.
