Paint-stained boots, a Sunday, and a message that doesn’t appear.
All the fury settled, turning me into just another entity.
Like all the broken promises I’ve made, you were just another one;
waiting for you in the valley, waiting for that voice I never heard coming.
It’s 20:10, and I’d like to be the same as always, to be the unreachable one again,
the one who never says goodbye, the one who leaves without leaving any final points.
I’m tired of challenging myself in a mirror, of looking for answers in some bathroom,
of waiting for a miracle, of drowning in flattery that never amounts to anything.
He told me he wanted to travel with me, and I felt like I could be someone else, someone better, someone different, who decides to step out of the puddle and not look back.
Among men who seek my womb to create, among men who seek one more trophy from me, among men who wait to see me fall or who wish to never see me again.
I’m going to be someone’s cancer, or another unconscious person’s drug.
Waiting for applause, I take from my hands what my heart yearns to shout.
